Kim began her insurance career in 1978, and ten years later, she was one of the founding principals of Professional Concepts Insurance Agency (PCIA). Today, Kim is the owner/principal of PCIA. Under Kim’s leadership, PCIA has become the leading provider of insurance and risk management services to design, accounting and legal professionals in Michigan.

Her life-long love of horses and her frustration in finding high quality insurance services to meet her own equine liability needs compelled her to start Equine World Insurance (EWI). EWI is dedicated to serving the insurance needs of the equine industry, equine professionals and equine enthusiasts.

The cornerstone of EWI’s philosophy is the concept of adding value to the client relationships by providing risk management advice along with insurance services. This combination provides a stronger relationship between EWI, the insured and the insurance company. Dedication to this philosophy is paramount to the success of both PCIA and EWI.

Kim’s love of horses began much earlier than her career in insurance. It has been reported that her first word was “horse”. Horses have been a part of her life since she was young. Kim currently owns two “Rugged Lark” offspring that are in training for their future in the show world.

Kim is a member of numerous committees of her clients’ associations. She is the President-elect of a national association – PLAN – an organization dedicated to the risk management needs of professional firms. She is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Paint Horse Association. She participates on a regular basis on behalf of her clients and industry groups in the facilitation of contract and engagement letter negotiations.

Kim is sought after to speak on specific industry issues, i.e., professional liability, dispute resolution and general business advice. She has been interviewed and frequently quoted by major industry publications.
 

Karen Guthrie brings to Equine World Insurance (EWI) over 12 years of insurance experience. Karen previously worked for a national broker where she managed their personal lines department. Her strong background in training and account servicing and her excellent reputation in the insurance industry provides EWI clients a strong foundation of client services. Her dedication to providing exemplary customer service and her demonstrated marketing skills will enable her to successfully provide valuable growth to EWI.

Karen has an extensive background in servicing all areas of policyholder needs and risks of all sizes. Karen will use her risk management expertise to provide education for EWI’s clients with the value-added services and quality of coverage they have come to expect from EWI.

Karen is a licensed insurance agent and is a Certified Service Representative.
 

Shannon has over 5 years insurance experience and is a licensed insurance agent. She has been with Equine World Insurance (EWI) since it began and has assumed numerous responsibilities within the company. Her experience in processing, risk management and operations makes her a valuable asset to our clients and other business partners. She is currently the account administrator for EWI clients..
